Over 350 adult practitioners attended the Spring Training Institute and Celebrating Success luncheon on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The Spring Training Institute kicked off with a welcome from state Superintendent of Education, Molly Spearman.  Then participants went to a variety of outstanding presentations including TABE 11&12, WorkKeys, Family Literacy, Workforce and ESL, Google and Edmodo, EdReady, Accommodations, Engaging Generation Z, plus many more!

The Celebrating Success Luncheon brought representatives from SCAAED (SC Association of Adult Education Directors) and SCAACE (SC Association of Adult and Continuing Education) together to award outstanding educators, partners and learners.  State awards followed, recognizing the efforts of programs to meet performance and testing goals.  Hall of Fame recognition went to those who have been with Adult Education for 10, 20 & 30 years and to those who have contributed to adult education above and beyond their regular job duties.

South Carolina Adult Education recognizes the outstanding efforts of all staff who work with adult students on a daily basis. You serve as teachers, mentors, parent figures, role models, social workers and friends to the students who enter your programs.  Our state is much better off because of your efforts, and we salute you!
